O'Neal Breaks Ground on Mitsubishi Electric Plant in Memphis

O¬'Neal Inc. broke ground Tuesday in Memphis, Tenn., on a $200 million project with Mitsubishi Electric Power Products Inc.

MEPPI, which is based in Pittsburgh, Pa., is building a new power transformer and power components manufacturing plant in Memphis¬' Rivergate Industrial Port. O¬'Neal will provide engineering, procurement and construction services for the project, which is expected to result in job creation at O¬'Neal¬'s three offices and at the Tennessee site.

The 350,000-square-foot plant is expected to start production in Spring 2013.

For 36 years, O¬'Neal has been delivering capital projects in the automotive, pharmaceutical/biotech, process chemical, manufacturing, energy, and pulp and paper markets worldwide. The company, founded in 1975, has offices in Raleigh, N.C.; Greenville; and Atlanta.
